Confirmation
Confirmation occurs after a two year course for our young people or adults to bring them to the understanding of our faith. At the completion of the preparation, the participants confirm and affirm their faith before the congregation and become full members of our adult community. Currently young people in the 8th and 9th grade make up our confirmation class. Adults share in a six week Explorers' Class after which and upon affirmation of their faith, become members of our Fellowship. If this was done previously in another Lutheran congregation, then by letter of transfer, they become part of our Fellowship. Email us to discuss Confirmation.

Children's Sunday School
Welcome to Sunday School! Pre-school through grade 6 Sunday Morning - 9:00 A.M. Preschool through 3rd grade children learn from the Bible to live the Good News. They explore how they can express their faith in daily life with family, friends, the broader community, and God's creation. 4th, 5th and 6th grade students engage in Groups Grapple program as they explore the Bible and use the computer to answer important questons in their lives. Children's Church
Children's Church, for children in grades 2 thru 6, is held during the worship service. As children study the "nuts and bolts" of the Bible, they grasp an understanding of the layout, the history, and the elements of the Bible. Bible Stories and Crafts
Bible Stories and Crafts is for children ages 3 through 1st grade and is held during the worship service. Children learn familiar Bible stories that become part of their lives, as well as take home corresponding craft projects. Email us to discuss Bible Stories and Crafts.

Treehouse
During Sunday summer services and on special holidays, pre-school and elementary children enjoy Biblical and contemporary videos as well as enticing read alouds and engaging activities. Email us to discuss Treehouse.

Vacation Bible School
During this year’s Vacation Bible School, kids will celebrate the good news of God’s love. They will engage in Kalahari Crafts, Grassland Games, Savannah Storytelling, Madagascar Music and Serengeti Science in an exciting African savannah environment – all under the Baobab Tree! So mark your calendars, grab your gear, and get ready for an amazing experience! It’s all happening July 19 through July 23, 2010 from 1 to 4pm at Grace Lutheran on 2503 Belair Drive, Bowie, Maryland 20715. Go to the home page of our website and click on the Baobab Tree symbol to register on line or pick up a form at Grace Lutheran. Children who will be four years old by October 1, 2010 and all kids up to those who have completed grade six are eligible to attend. Please register by July fifth so we can be ready for you! Read to the Lambs
A Free Early Literacy/Activity Fun Program Open to preschool and primary children in the surrounding community
When: 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month - drop in anytime between noon and two P.M.
Details: Parent/child drop in, read and/or play a little, select bag of books, and off you go. Scholarships
Each year Grace Lutheran recognizes a worthy student who is continuing their education, either at a college or vocational school, by granting them a scholarship. We also choose an adult who is going back to school to further their career. Email us to discuss Scholarships.

Grace's lending library has a wide array of books, videos, DVDs and magazines.
